Some tarot readers like to convey a
positive message in their readings and are hesitant
to tell the Querent about strong negative aspects
which may appear in the reading. If
a small child was about to touch a hot stove, wouldn't
you tell the child not to touch it?
So it is with the tarot. You should know where the danger lies.
Using decks such as Aleister Crowley's Thoth Deck and The Rohrig Tarot,
which follows a
similar model, allows for a unique perspective that traditional imagery
may not reveal.
Even the most subtle differences in imagery can vary the
meaning of the card.
The Emperor faces you in a traditional tarot deck, but in the
Thoth deck he is turned,
facing sideways. The Thoth deck also assigns the eighth
trump card to Justice. Strength
is moved to the eleventh position. Perhaps you
need a new perspective in life as well.
